Getting started
- Install Munch and sign in with Apple or Google. There are no passwords.
- Pick a username and a daily calorie target. You can change both later in Settings.
- Tap the mic at the bottom of the screen, allow microphone access, and say what you ate.
Voice tips
- Be natural. "Two eggs on toast and a flat white" is enough. Add portions or times if you want to be precise: "a big bowl of pasta about an hour ago".
- Correct it. "Make that one slice" or "delete the coffee" works mid-conversation.
- Ask how you're going. "How am I tracking today?" or "What did I average this week?"
- Change your target. "Set my target to 2,200."
- Talk over it. The mic stays open while Munch replies, so you can interrupt. If it's loud around you, use the Skip button in the voice panel instead.
- Sessions end automatically after three minutes of silence.
Friends
Search by name or @username on the Friends tab and send a request. Once they accept, you can each see the other's daily totals, charts and entries. Remove a friend from the menu on their profile to stop sharing both ways.
Delete your account
Open Settings in the app, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, food log and friend connections from our servers. If you can't access the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you within 30 days.
Common questions
Are the calorie numbers accurate?
They're AI estimates based on your description and typical portions, so treat them as a guide. Being specific about portions helps. You can always tap an entry to adjust the numbers by hand.
Google sign-in says the app isn't verified
During the beta, Google sign-in is limited to invited testers. Use Sign in with Apple, or email us and we'll add you.
The assistant keeps interrupting itself
This happens when the speaker is loud and the microphone picks it up. Turn the volume down a little, use headphones, or tap Skip to move on.
Does it work offline?
Manual logging and viewing your history work offline and sync when you're back online. Voice needs a connection.
Where is my data stored?
On Cloudflare's network. Voice audio is processed by OpenAI and not kept by us. See the Privacy Policy.
